Where you include any images in your essay, thesis or work, you can describe them as figures. You will need to include them in reference. Figures need to be numbered e.g. Figure 1. or Fig.1 or Figs. 1,2,3. and captioned (described), place caption directly under the image. Number all Figures in the order they first appear in the text.
Your figures must be appropriately titled. All graphs, diagrams and images should be titled as Figures. These will be numbered consecutively throughout the dissertation: Figure 1, Figure 2, Figure 3, and so on. After the numbering, there should be a short and concise title. Referencing List of Figures and Tables in Dissertation When mentioning tables and figures in the list, one must be sure that they have clearly numbered and titled each of them. If a figure has been obtained from an external source, that source should be clearly referenced in text and also in the Bibliography section.
